| 7/6/2005-SMT Golf Congratulates Former Olympic Gold Medalist, Randy Barnes, On His First Long Drive Victory |
| Oswego, IL - SMT Golf is pleased to announce that Long Driver Randy Barnes won the Men's Open Division at the recent LDA Tour event in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. He bested the competition with a winning drive of 408 yards using an SMT Spectrum driver. While Randy is relatively new to the Long Drive circuit, he is no stranger to competing against some of the finest athletes in the world. In 1988 in Seoul, Korea he captured a Silver Medal for the United States and in 1996 capped off his illustrious Track & Field career with a Gold Medal at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. Along with his Olympic medals, Randy also currently holds both the indoor and outdoor shot put World Records, which he set back in 1989 and 1990 respectively. "It's great to see a guy like Randy do well," said Mike Tait, President of SMT Golf. "But it's no surprise. I knew the first time I saw him compete that he was going to be a force to be reckoned with on the Long Drive Circuit.
